The Tasmanian Advantage: What Makes Spreyton Cider Taste Different
What makes a Spreyton beverage truly special?
According to our Production and Cider Manager Shivam Tandon, it starts with the fruit.
Spreyton Cider Co. produces a growing range of beverages, from ciders and RTDs to sparkling drinks and non-alcoholic options. But regardless of the beverage, quality always begins at the orchard.
Unlike many large-scale producers that rely on imported concentrates, syrups or heavily processed ingredients, Spreyton works directly with fruit grown on-site in Tasmania.
Shiv and the team can watch the apples develop on the trees for months. Only once they’re ready are they harvested and pressed into fresh juice for fermentation.
Most importantly, Spreyton cider is made from freshly pressed juice, not watered-down concentrates or diluted blends. There is no added water in the cider production process, so the fruit can speak for itself.
Tasmania’s clean air, fertile soil and cool climate also contribute to the quality of the fruit, helping create beverages that reflect the region they come from.
For Shiv, that connection between orchard and production is what gives Spreyton its edge. Many producers buy their ingredients in. At Spreyton, you can follow the process all the way from tree to glass.
