Some recipes have a story worth telling. Captain’s Choice started with Sea Captain Walter Langworthy, who brewed ginger beer strong enough to settle sailors’ stomachs through Bass Strait storms in the 1860s. When he swapped the captain’s wheel for a publican’s life, his recipe became the drink of choice for Tasmania’s dockworkers and seafarers. Today, his great-great-grandchildren at Spreyton Cider keep that tradition alive, three ways.
