Kingston Black is revered as the king of cider apples for good reason. One of the rare varieties that delivers exceptional balance of tannin, acidity, and flavour entirely on its own.
After years of patient cultivation, our trees on the family orchard in Spreyton finally delivered fruit worthy of something different. That cider then spent six months resting in seasoned ex-whisky barrels from Hellyers Road Distillery, home of some of Tasmania's oldest whisky.
Finished in traditional champagne bottles using the Normandy bottle conditioning method. Naturally sparkling. Richly textured. Built to be savoured.

What to expect
in the Glass
Tasting Notes
Aroma
Baked apple and warm spice open first, followed by vanilla and toasted oak. Delicate floral undertones come through as it opens in the glass.
Flavour
Rich apple character evolves into caramel, toffee, and a gentle whisky warmth. A distinctive tannic backbone and bright acidity keep it lively and long.
Texture
Fine, persistent natural bubbles from bottle conditioning give a luxurious, crisp body. The finish is long and satisfying.
Colour
Deep golden-amber with ruby hints from the Kingston Black's signature dark red skin. Striking in a tulip glass or white wine glass.

Visit our working orchard in South Spreyton and taste this rare release as soon as it's poured. Enjoy it with lunch or dinner from our kitchen, surrounded by the very orchard it came from.
