Tasmania Has a New Sparkle: Meet Spreyton’s natural sparkling Water

off the press

Something new has arrived at Spreyton Cider Co. For the first time in our five generations as a Tasmanian family business, we have bottled our own spring water. It’s called Spreyton Natural Sparkling Water, and it comes straight from the slopes of Mt Roland, just up the road.

Spreyton New Natural Sparkling Waters

Where it all starts

Mt Roland stands proudly at the head of the Mersey Valley in North West Tasmania. A towering monolith of quartz conglomerate, the locals reckon it’s our answer to Uluru. The summit rises 1,234 metres above the valley floor, built from quartz-rich rock laid down by ancient rivers around 500 million years ago.

Clean Tasmanian rain lands on its craggy face. Up there it’s just weather, rock, and the occasional very windswept wallaby.

Nature’s filter

Below the summit, the valleys and plains are rich in volcanic basalt, and deeper still sits ancient limestone. For millennia, rainfall has worked its way down through both, filtering slowly towards us long before anyone thought to put water in a can. Nature’s filter, no plug required.

Only 30 kilometres separate Mt Roland from our door in Spreyton. The water makes the trip. You don’t have to.

It rises at our spring in Spreyton

The water emerges at our spring, crisp and pure, right where our family has grown apples for five generations. We source it, filter it and package it ourselves, all on site in Spreyton.

Why we made it

Spreyton Cider Co. has been making drinks here since 1908. Cider has always been at the heart of what we do, and we have always believed in doing right by what the land gives us. But the truth is, we have been drinking the water from our own spring for years. We always knew it tasted good. It just took us a while to realise it deserved more than sitting underground, so we built a sparkling natural water range around it.

We add sparkle and finish it with natural flavours. No sugar, no calories, just the mountain, doing what it’s always done, now in a 330 ml can.

Meet the range

Spreyton Natural Sparkling Water comes in four flavours:

  • Pure Sparkling — Crisp & unbothered. Pure sparkling water for the purists who reckon a mountain should not need any help.
  • Raspberry — Berry & bold. Finished with raspberry. Tassie berries have a reputation. This keeps it.
  • Passionfruit — Bright & tropical. Finished with passionfruit. Sunshine in a can, even in a Tassie winter.
  • Yuzu — Zesty & curious. Finished with the citrus flavour of yuzu. The most interesting citrus you will meet all week.

Each can carries the same promise: real Tasmanian spring water, finished with natural flavour, zero sugar, zero calories

Where to find it

You can find Spreyton Sparkling Water in a few places:

  • At our Cellar Door in Spreyton, where you can also try our ciders and see where it all began
  • At IGA supermarkets across Tasmania
  • At independent outlets around Tasmania

If you’re visiting North West Tasmania, come try the full range at our Cellar Door, right alongside the ciders that started it all back in 1908. Make a day of it and stay for lunch at the Orchard Kitchen.

So good. So pure. So Spreyton.

Rain falls on a mountain. It filters through ancient volcanic soils and limestone, then rises at our spring in Spreyton. We add sparkles, a whisper of natural flavour, and absolutely nothing else. That’s it. That’s the recipe.

Come and taste it for yourself, whether that’s a can from the shelf at your local IGA, your local supermarket or a visit to the Cellar Door where the water actually begins.
