Discover award-winning Tasmanian cider crafted from fruit grown in our family orchard in North West Tasmania. Family owned since 1908, Spreyton Cider Co creates authentic orchard-to-glass cider bursting with real fruit flavour. As one of Tasmania’s leading producers of craft cider Australia can proudly call its own, we believe great cider starts in the orchard
Ours starts in the rich soils of North West Tasmania. Our family has been growing fruit in Spreyton since 1908, which means we have had five generations to argue about apples, and every one of those arguments has made the cider better. Today we craft award-winning Tasmanian cider from fruit grown in our own orchards, pressed a short walk from where it’s picked.
We believe great cider starts in the orchard, not the factory. From tree to glass, every Spreyton cider showcases the quality of Tasmanian fruit and more than a century of farming know-how.
And if you’re here at the right time of year, keep an eye out for The King, our limited-release Kingston Black Barrel Aged cider. Only 1,400 bottles exist.
Tasmanian Apple Cider: A True Taste of Tasmania
Our Apple Cider captures the unmistakable flavour of freshly picked Tasmanian apples. It’s crafted from traditional cider apple varieties including Bulmers Norman, Kingston Black and Dabinett, alongside Fuji, Gala and Pink Lady. That mix of heritage and orchard-fresh eating apples is something the big brands simply can’t do, because they don’t grow their own fruit. We do.
Natural apple sweetness is balanced by fresh acidity for a bright, clean finish that hangs around long after the last sip. It’s the cider that keeps earning us medals, and if you’re hunting for the best apple cider in Australia, this is where we’d tell you to start, with a Spreyton Cider, Apple Cider. [Shop Apple Cider.]
No Added Water. Just Fruit.
Plenty of ciders on the shelf start life as concentrate, get diluted with water and are dressed up with flavours afterwards. Ours does not.
Spreyton Cider is made from 100% fresh pressed fruit, straight off the trees in our own orchards. No added water and no concentrate. What’s in your glass is what grew in Spreyton, and that’s the whole recipe. It’s a slower, more honest way to make cider.
Classic Dry: A Craft Cider for True Cider Lovers
For those who like their cider with a bit more restraint, Classic Dry showcases the quieter art of traditional cider making.
Crafted from heritage varieties including Gravenstein, Britchell and Bulmers Norman, this elegant cider offers delicate orchard aromas, subtle fruit notes and a beautifully balanced palate. Crisp apple flavours give way to a lingering dry finish that lets the fruit do the talking.
If you consider yourself a cider person rather than a sweet tooth, this one’s yours, try our Spreyton Cider Classic Dry today. [Shop Classic Dry.]
Apple and Raspberry Cider: One of Our Most Loved
Apple and Raspberry was the first flavoured cider we ever released, and it’s never given up its spot as one of our most popular.
Fresh pressed apple cider made from Royal Gala, Fuji and Granny Smith apples is blended with sun-ripened Tasmanian raspberries for a medium sweet cider full of genuine fruit flavour. Bold raspberry notes sit on a crisp apple base with a bright, refreshing finish. [Shop Apple and Raspberry Cider.]
Pear Cider: Pure Orchard Freshness
Made from naturally sweet Beurre Bosc and Packham pears grown in our family orchards, our Pear Cider tastes like a perfectly ripe pear picked straight from the tree, because that’s more or less what it is.
Fresh pear aromas, gentle sweetness and lively natural effervescence make this one smooth, refreshing and dangerously easy to finish. For anyone looking for genuine pear cider in Australia, this is orchard-fresh fruit in a glass. [Shop Pear Cider.]
Our Cherry Cider: Bold, Vibrant and Unmistakably Tasmanian
Our Sour Cherry Cider combines zesty Kentish cherries and sweet Lapin cherries with crisp Spreyton apple cider, and the result doesn’t hold back.
Rich cherry aromas, juicy fruit character and lively apple acidity strike a refreshing balance between sweet and tart. Full-flavoured and a little bit rebellious, Spreyton Cider Sour Cherry has become a favourite among drinkers keen to explore new styles of Tasmanian cider. [Shop Sour Cherry Cider.]

Australian Cider Brands: Looking Beyond the Mainstream
Many Australians first discover cider through big names like Somersby, Strongbow, 5 Seeds, Rekorderlig and Bulmers. Those brands have done plenty to grow cider’s popularity here, and fair play to them. But more and more drinkers are looking for something with a bit more character behind the label.
We take a different approach. As a family-owned Tasmanian cider maker, we craft every drop using premium fruit grown in our own orchards. No concentrate shipped in from somewhere vague. No recipe designed by committee. Just fruit, patience and five generations of practice.
If you enjoy Somersby Apple Cider or you’re searching for the best cider Australia has to offer, we’d love you to taste what orchard-grown Tasmanian cider is really like. We reckon you will notice the difference by the first sip.
